DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES AND METHOD(S) OF ADMINISTRATION

Target species: Cats and Dogs
Routes of administration:
Manual spray gun for external use only.
The spray gun sprays 1.5 mL per spray.

Dosage:

To moisten the coat as far as the skin, apply 3 to 6 mL per kg of body weight (i.e. 7.5 to 15 mg of fipronil per kg of body weight), depending on the length of the hair.
This dosage can be obtained by using 2 to 4 sprays per kg of body weight.
Depending on the length of the hair:
The 250 mL pack size allows a 20 kg dog to be treated 2 to 4 times.

Method of administration:

1 - Turn the nozzle of the gun to the spray position.
2 - Spray the product over the animal’s entire coat at a distance of about 10-20 cm. Apply in the opposite direction to the hair growth, making sure that the animal’s entire coat is moistened. Massage the coat, especially in long-haired animals, so that the product penetrates to the skin.

For the treatment of the area around the head, or to treat young or nervous animals, the application can be done by first spraying the product on to a glove and then rubbing the glove on the coat. Allow to dry in the open air. Do not use a towel to dry the animal.

Properties:

The formula contains a covering agent among the excipients. The spray therefore creates a film which is deposited on the coat and makes it shiny.

1 - Adjust the nozzle.
2 - Spray in the opposite direction to the hair growth while holding the dog.
3. Wide spray for the back and the sides, standing.
4. Wide spray for the chest and the stomach, sitting or lying.
5. Fine spray for the paws and the folds of the skin.
6. Spray on a glove to treat the head.

Treatment plan:

To combat flea and/or tick infestations effectively, the treatment plan may take account of the local epidemiological situation.
In the absence of any non-toxicity studies the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks.
Puppies and kittens can be treated from the age of 2 days.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS FOR STORAGE

Very flammable.
Do not store at a temperature above 25°C.
Keep out of direct sunlight.
Shelf life after the immediate packaging is opened for the first time: 1 year.
Do not use this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date stated on the bottle after EXP.

SPECIFIC CAUTION(S)

Cautions specific to each target species

Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Do not get in the animal’s eyes.
Do not spray directly on areas of damaged skin.
Ensure that the treated animals are allowed to dry in a well-ventilated room (see also section "Special precautions for use").
Do not confine animals in an enclosed space or in an animal transportation bag until the coat is completely dry.
In the absence of specific data on tolerance and effectiveness, it is not recommended to use the product with species other than dogs and cats.
In the context of a flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) treatment programme, a monthly application of the product on the allergic animal as well on other cats and dogs in the household is recommended.
For optimal effectiveness, it is recommended not to bathe the animals or to shampoo them in the two days preceding or following the treatment with the product. It has been shown that giving baths or shampoos up to 4 times in a two-month period had no significant effect on the residual effectiveness of the product.
A monthly treatment is recommended for more frequent shampoos.

The areas where the animal usually lies down such as carpets, sofas, car interiors, etc. should be treated with an appropriate insecticide which will help to treat the environment and maximise the period of protection from re-infestation provided by the product.

In order to combat flea problems in the best way possible, in a household where there are several animals, all the dogs and cats in the household should be treated with an appropriate insecticide.

Special precautions for use with the animal

Make sure that the animals do not lick each other after treatment.
It is possible that isolated ticks will attach themselves. For this reason, under unfavourable conditions the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely ruled out. The product is not suitable for direct treatment of the environment.

Keep animals away from fire or all sources of heat, and surfaces that may be damaged by the spraying of alcohol, at least for 30 minutes after spraying and until the coat is completely dry.

Special precautions to be taken by the person who administers the veterinary medicinal product to the animals

This product may cause irritation to the mucous membranes and the eyes. This is why you should avoid contact between the product and the mouth or the eyes.
Animals or users with known hypersensitivity to insecticides or alcohol should avoid contact with the product. Avoid touching the contents with your fingers. If this occurs, wash your hands with soap and water.
In the event of accidental eye exposure, rinse eyes thoroughly with clean water. Until the coat is dry, treated animals should not be handled and children should not be allowed to play with the treated animals. It is therefore recommended not to treat animals during the day but rather in the early evening, and not to let animals that have just been treated sleep with their owners, especially with children.

Spray the product on animals in the open air or in a well-ventilated room. Do not inhale the product. Do not smoke, drink or eat while applying the product. Wear PVC or nitrile gloves when treating animals. It is recommended to wear a waterproof apron to protect clothing. If clothing is sprayed to a significant extent with the product, it should be removed and washed before it can be worn again.
Discard gloves after use and wash your hands with soap and water.
Wash any spills on the skin immediately with soap and water. If irritation occurs, get immediate medical advice/attention. People with known sensitivity or suffering from asthma may be particularly sensitive to the product. Do not use the product if you have already experienced reactions to the product.
Treatment of several animals: good ventilation of the treatment area is particularly important when several animals are treated. To treat several animals, apply the product outside, or limit the accumulation of vapours by bringing the animals out of the room where they have been treated while the alcohol evaporates, and make sure that the room is well ventilated between two individual treatments. Also, ensure that the drying room is well ventilated and avoid placing several recently-treated animals in the same atmosphere.

Other precautions

Fipronil can have an adverse effect on aquatic organisms. Do not allow dogs to bathe in waterways for 2 days following application.

No data from specific studies on the use of the product during pregnancy in female dogs, cats or the period of lactation in cats is available. The safety of the medicinal product has not been established and so it should only be used after a benefit/risk assessment has been carried out by the vet.

Interaction with other veterinary medicinal products and other forms of interaction: None known.

Excessive dose:

The risk of adverse effects may increase if you exceed the dose.
In case of excessive dose, apply an appropriate symptomatic treatment.

Incompatibility: Not known.

Can I use the anti-parasite spray on my puppy?

Yes, the anti-flea, anti-tick and anti-lice spray can be administered on a puppy from the 2nd day after birth. The spray dosage to be applied will depend on the weight of the animal, at a rate of 3 to 6 ml per kilogram.

Anti-Flea et Tick Spray

Fleas and ticks are present throughout the year, in towns and in the countryside. Check your dog regularly, especially after a walk in the forest, where the risk of catching fleas or ticks is higher. Fleas or ticks like to lodge themselves in and around your dog’s ears, at the base of the tail and on the stomach. Also check your dog's environment (toys, cushions, baskets, carpets, etc.), as the parasites can lodge anywhere in the house. If you notice the presence of fleas or ticks on your dog's coat or skin, treat your animal promptly with a product which kills parasites, to reduce the risk of diseases caused by bites.
