Its ergonomic rubber handles make it easy to grip, so that this necessary, although not always pleasant, activity for your animal takes place in the best conditions.

When should I cut my dog or cat’s claws?

Just like our nails, your pet's claws are growing continuously. Cut them before they touch the ground, to prevent them from breaking and injuring the paw.

The frequency of growth varies according to the habits of your dog or cat: if it likes to run on rough ground (pavements, rocky ground), the claws can wear themselves out. If it prefers its soft cushion, the claws will need to be cut more often.

How do I cut my dog or cat’s claws?

Place your little companion in a position that is comfortable for both of you, where you can hold its paw firmly. Remove the dirt around the nail. Cut the claw using the nail clipper adapted to its size.

Don’t forget the spur claw, on the inside of the leg.

Be careful to only cut off the dead part of the claw. If you cannot locate the end of the vein, then cut a smaller part of the claw, to avoid any injury.

For any animal its coat represents the best protection against external aggression.
Vétocanis brushes are there to help you care for the coat each day.

Below are the Vétocanis Tips which explain the 3 essential steps to follow to brush your companion properly

STEP 1: Disentangling the coat.

The purpose of this step is to make sure that all knots have been untangled before the brushing stage. It also helps to eliminate dead hairs from the undercoat.

STEP 2: Brushing.

With the knots untangled the coat can be brushed more easily. This step eliminates dead hair, dirt and dust, and gives shine and lustre to the coat.

STEP 3: Finishing.

This stage can involve cutting the nails, thinning out the fur, cutting hair that is too long around the ears and eyes, or even massaging your animal!
